Verimatrix (News - Alert) has stated that more than 40 Avail Media affiliates have signed up for their live broadcast MPEG-4 IPTV content to provide fully-encrypted and market-ready IPTV (News - Alert) services for network operators.

 

The company claims to set the standard for software-based content security and revenue enhancement technologies in pay-TV networks, with a customer base of service providers. Avail Media provides managed content aggregation services through a fully-integrated, head-end infrastructure for the profitable deployment of IP video.

 

According to the Verimatrix’s predictions, these 40 new members will bring around half a million homes under their umbrella. Their members will now benefit from the company’s Video Content Authority System, VCAS, which will provide live broadcasts of MPEG-4 IPTV content. The new signups represent 76 percent of Avail Media’s total customer base.

 

Avail Media claims to be the only company offering its affiliates a combined MPEG-4 linear IPTV, HD Overlay (MPEG-2/4) programming, and Video On Demand (VOD) solution. Officials at Avail Media say that even when IPTV market was in the developing stage, Avail Media had made a deal with Verimatrix to use their VCAS for network security.

 

According to Verimatrix, traditional conditional access systems are architected around one-way communications, while Verimatrix VCAS has designed its solutions from the ground up using the power and integrity of modern two-way IP infrastructure and are capable of addressing the content security challenges for the pay-TV networks.

Verimatrix has also updated their systems in accordance with present day IPTV standards. And they claim that their partnership with Avail Media has gained vast expertise in providing secure IPTV networks.
