ChinaCache's CDN Services will Support 2008 Olympics

China’s content delivery network (CDN) service provider, ChinaCache, today announced that it is ready to provide CDN services to support the upcoming 2008 Olympic Games which begin Friday, August 8.
With the help of its commercial contracts with a number of domestic media, Internet Web portals, and online entertainment companies, ChinaCache is expected to carry a total of 5,400 hours of online content delivery services for the Games
Utilizing its nationwide CDN network in China, ChinaCache will provide a wide range of CDN services during the Games, including Web Caching, Flash Video (FLV) acceleration, Live Streaming, P2SP Live Streaming and Video-on-Demand (VOD). All CDN services will be provided to cover both opening and closing ceremonies, as well as all games between August 6 and 24.

We are fully prepared with our resources of network, bandwidth, security with an around clock customer support mechanism to ensure a total success of the unprecedented online delivery task,'' said Song Wang, CEO of ChinaCache.
ChinaCache started preparing for its CDN services for the 29th Olympic Games over a year ago. As part of its effort to introduce advanced technologies to its CDN network, ChinaCache integrated Adobe's Flash Media Server and Microsoft's (News - Alert) Silverlight at the end of last year. In addition, ChinaCache also developed a joint CDN research institute with Tsinghua University to engage in advanced CDN research projects, thus forming the second largest R&D team in the CDN industry.
