Xirrus 802.11n Network Deployed as Education Technology in Adams 12 Five Star Schools

The deployment of Xirrus high performance 802.11n Wi-Fi Arrays across the Adams 12 Five Star School District in Thornton, Colorado has been announced by Xirrus. The most coverage, bandwidth, and user density in the industry is delivered by Xirrus, provider of High Performance Wi-Fi.

Adams 12 is a large district with 45,000 students and 5,000 employees. The need of a robust wireless system to support a large number of concurrent users has been fulfilled with this deployment of Xirrus Wi-Fi arrays. A reliable wireless environment that can support more users with fewer devices than any other Wi-Fi vendor is possible with the unique architecture of Xirrus Wi-Fi Arrays.

In a release, David Bonsett, who is the CIO of Adams 12 Five Star Schools said, “We really wanted something that was going to be easy to manage, give us high capacity, and provide us with full coverage. We chose Xirrus because they could offer all of these things. Adams 12 has implemented a program for teachers that include presentation carts. These carts constantly roam and we can never predict where they're going to be, so a wireless system was imperative. The high density and full coverage of Xirrus wireless has made our system much more cost effective and user friendly for our teachers and students."

According to David, the sales engineers of Xirrus are very technical. This is one of the benefits of choosing Xirrus as the amount of work Adam 12 has to do on their end have been cut down. David added that working with Xirrus was very easy. Xirrus has done a complete site survey to ensure complete connectivity throughout the building. They also re-checked that there was full coverage after the deployment. If the coverage was not as what was guaranteed, Xirrus has added, retuned or moved the Arrays around to make sure the entire building is lit up.

In a release, David Bonsett added, “The customer service has been excellent with Xirrus. They follow through on all of their commitments, they're very easy to work with, and they are very professional and understanding of the learning process to make sure it's not interrupted."
