RTI Virtual Conference Offers Educators Real-Time Solutions to Help Students
In response to the Obama administration's efforts to help the country's struggling students, the education services and technology company Pearson is helping educators better understand and execute Response to Intervention, which is an educational framework designed to help all children learn by identifying problems early, monitoring student progress and applying relevant learning strategies to keep students on track.
Pearson is offering a virtual conference dedicated to Response to Intervention, which will enable America's educators to attend educational sessions, explore RTI products and programs at the exhibition hall, chat with their peers and industry experts in real time, and have their funding questions answered. The 2010 RTI Virtual Conference will take place from July 26-30 and will allow educators to learn from their peers and experts to further their understanding of RTI. The program will cover an overview of RTI, its benefits, its best practices and how to succeed in implementing it. Teachers and school officials nationwide will have access to multimedia resources geared toward RTI through this completely online conference, which will be available at the website. Renowned experts covering a wide range of RTI topics will present everyday according to fixed schedules. Speakers will include Professors from Universities, educational consultants, Principals of Institutions, and coordinators from special institutions. During these sessions, teachers can ask RTI questions and share experiences. Each session is being archived and will be made available online until the end of the year. Elizabeth Bassford, Pearson's literacy expert cited the advantages of the Virtual Conference and said that educators and all officials associated with education were eager to know more about RTI, but the tight budgets and registration fees made it difficult to attend traditional conferences. The Virtual conference, she explained provided the same information without the cost factor. Another advantage of such conferences was that they are open throughout the day, and anyone could access quality RTI information at their convenience. Archived presentations, podcasts, Web site links and downloadable materials were all accessible at the Web site. At the RTI Virtual Conference exhibit hall, educators can engage with Pearson's RTI solutions for math, literature, assessment and professional development, all of which are eligible for federal funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Pearson, the global leader in education services, technology and school solutions, provides innovative print and digital education materials for pre-K through college, student information systems and learning management systems, teacher professional development, career certification programs, and testing and assessment products.
