UNIT4 Takes Entry in Australian Education Sector with Flagship ERP Product

Sliedrecht, the Netherlands based mid-market ERP software player has announced recently that it has signed a landmark education sector deal with the Queensland Government Department of Education and Training in Australia. The announcement was made by UNIT4 at the Grape Escape analyst event attended by prominent technology analysts.

 

Under the $6.5 million agreement, UNIT4 will be providing its Australian client with UNIT4's flagship ERP product, Agresso Business World. The product will be used by the Queensland education and training department as the finance technology solution to support Queensland's transformational "SmartClassroom" education initiative.

 

The development of OneSchool application is one of the major parts of this iconic "SmartClassroom" initiative. The OneSchool application, which is a school-driven project focused on improving relationships among teachers, their students, and parents is being built on the Queensland Department of Education and Training's enterprise (technology) platform and supports the Department's core business of learning and teaching. The key objective of the application is to enhance the learning of all students. To accomplish this objective, the teachers are going to be provided with accurate, timely and complete information about their students delivering a holistic picture of each student in the form of a OneSchool student record, deepening relationships and supporting improved learning outcomes.

 

UNIT4 officials have informed that Agresso Business World web-based Finance and Asset Management modules will be seamlessly integrated to OneSchool's own Student Management functionality, for delivery in January 2011.

 

With Agresso, the Government will meet their objective to provide a highly secure, reliable and low-maintenance information and technology platform that can be accessed anywhere, any time and that doesn't require the ongoing, expensive change costs typical of ERP market solutions.

 

Managing financial transactions for more than 400,000 students, the Agresso Business World solution will be accessible by more than 40,000 teachers, school-based administrative staff members, and other education stakeholders.
