Gate Technology Launches New Optical Touch Screen

By Carolyn J Dawson, TMCnet Contributor

Gate Technology reportedly announced the launch of its new optical touch screen that will help users with digital multimedia screen and an electric whiteboard for Web based learning, virtual campus and e-school applications.

“We are proud to offer this eminent optical touch screen to customers,” Harry Rhim, CEO of SYNET USA said in a statement. “People will benefit from this multi-touch screen in terms of speed and writing demonstration." SYNET USA is a distributor of this product in the United States.”
The latest optical touch screen is equipped with multi touch screen functions that have a low 6 mm/sec response time. This is far better than other commonly available products where the reading time is around 10 mm/sec. The user interface also lets people do different kinds of activities like work, writing and drawing and multi-touch. The application utilizes a camera module that is better than the traditional method, for both display and touch functions.
Gate Technology’s optical touch screen is also available in a multiple spectrum of screen sizes, ranging from 30 inches to 120 inches. The Optical Touch Screen also incorporates clear glass to achieve maximum clarity of vision. Installation and setting up the product is also quite simple and does not require the help of complicated tools or skilled personnel. The product is based on a USB plug and play format. Therefore users of the screen do not need an extra power supply unit to operate the product.
In addition, the device is also equipped with advanced technology that cuts down the multi-touch response time and associated errors. Setting measuring points for the product is a one-time process, which is unlike other traditional touch screen devices. Users need to define only four points during installation and the calibration process need not be repeated.
The Gate Technology’s optical touch screen is being retailed by SYNET, a company based out of Little Ferry, N.J. The sales and marketing firm concentrates on creating and furthering strategic associations between the North American market and potential Korean IT companies. It also gives them an easy pathway to successfully enter the competitive North American market, officials said.
