iStudio -- comprising of a team of publishers, designers and software architects desirous of simplifying design software -- has announced the release of iStudio Publisher 1.1, a new upgrade to its design and desktop publishing software. It is an intuitive Mac based design and layout application which is useful in creating professional grade documents.
According to the company, using iStudio 1.1 is easy and does not require a professional training course and usage is facilitated by simply viewing introductory videos and detailed help features, said company sources.
The iStudio 1.1 features a new image manipulation tool and a better image inspector palette which allows users to control images within their documents. Users can easily scale, stretch, crop and tile images besides being able to size, position and rotate the images freely within the containing shapes enhancing focusing capabilities on the important parts of the image.
Text can also be added inside and around the same shape with an image in it, at the same time with gradient fills and drop shadows. These features and the recently released Multi-Line HUD tool optimize iStudio Publisher as a design tool.
The creators of iStudio have made the Publisher simple by streamlining the menus and keyboard shortcuts so that users can locate the tools easily when they need them. This eliminates the presence of pop-ups or palettes scattered all over the user interface and users can focus on the document without being distracted.
iStudio Publisher requires Mac OS X version 10.4.11 or a later version, a Macintosh computer with Intel (News - Alert) processor, PowerPC G5, 512 MB of RAM, 32 MB of video RAM and 100 MB of available disk space.
The team behind iStudio developed a Geometric Modeling Engine called the c:four engine which is capable of creating many designs and productivity applications. iStudio Publisher has been created by using the c:four engine.
iStudio Publisher can be used to produce magazines, brochures, advertisements, reports, newsletters, greeting cards and other publications. Documents of up to 999 pages can be produced consisting of pages of any size, standalone pages or 2-page spreads. Images can be added or cropped to any shape and text and text can be allowed to flow around any shape such as along a curved path using the publisher.
Documents can be managed and format settings to shapes, text and images can be applied with the help of inspectors. iStudio documents can be exported to PDF files or sent as output directly to a printer. iStudio Publisher document files have an open XML based file format, said its creators.
