Elluminate has integrated its Live! virtual classroom environment with the Learning Environment from Desire2Learn. With this, the users of Desire2Learn can easily add synchronous distance learning and collaboration to course work, according to Elluminate.

 

Elluminate Live! is a virtual environment, which uses Collaborative Communications Framework to optimize learning. With the help of its Open Access Licensing technology Elluminate minimizes administrative overhead with powerful session administration tools, like session creation and scheduling, configurable email invitations, multiple meeting types, content preloads, user groups and authentication.

 

This partnership will allow institutions to make use of existing technology investments, meet the needs of today’s students, increase enrollment, and improve student outcomes. With no additional IDs or passwords required, this offering will enable users to perform a variety of activities from within their familiar Desire2Learn environment.

The company recently expanded its learning suite to include Elluminate Live! V9 and Elluminate Publish! V2. The new products extend the reach of current academic infrastructure by integrating video podcasts into a learning management system of an institution or enabling the use of existing audio conferencing within a real-time, online session. Elluminate Live! V9 includes simultaneous multipoint video displayed in up to six live video windows.
