South Korean University Selects A10 Networks Appliances
Kyungpook National University, located in the Republic of Korea, has selected A10 Networks’ (News - Alert) ID Series network identity management appliances to integrate identity tracking, RADIUS and authenticated DHCP in a single platform for its wireless infrastructure.
The company claims the ID Series is the industry's only network identity management appliance delivering integrated features that resolve IP addresses to user identity (IP-to-ID) instantly, simplify user password management with the User Self Service Web Portal, centralize user account management, and enhance RADIUS authentication and access control.
Kyungpook National University with 20,000 students experiences a large amount of wireless traffic, with 20 percent to 30 percent of its students using the wireless network each day.
The university wanted to streamline and upgrade its existing infrastructure, also wanted to use old WEP wireless APs and new 802.1x wireless APs, and required an authentication solution for wireless simplification, security and visibility.
"We needed specific features to update our wireless infrastructure and were pleased to find the unique feature mix in a simple to deploy and cost effective solution with A10's ID Series," said Dong-Ji Bang, team manager of the information foundation team for Kyungpook National University, in a statement.
Bang said that ID Series has improved the service it offers to students as well as significantly decreased the amount of administrative work required on an ongoing basis.
A10 Networks officials said that A10's ID series would provide Kyungpook National University with a complete wireless authentication solution with a rich feature set in a single appliance with all-inclusive pricing, versus a multiple box or multiple license approach.
"We are proud to deliver an easy-to-use and cost-effective identity and user management system for Kyungpook National University," said Lee Chen (News - Alert), founder and CEO for A10 Networks.
Chen said that ID Series enables customers in academic markets to increase efficiency through network simplification, security and visibility.
A10 Networks was founded in 2004 with a mission to provide networking and security solutions. A10 Networks says that it makes high-performance products that help organizations accelerate, optimize and secure their applications. Anil Sharma is a contributing editor for TMCnet.
