QED Connect to Introduce Educational Program with a Special Price Structure

By Jyothi Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributor

QED Connect, an information security solutions provider that gives organizations visibility, management and control of activity on all their computers, laptops and wireless devices, has announced its plan to introduce an educational program with a special price structure.

Specifically, the new program aims to make it easier for education organizations to comply with the Children’s Internet Protection Act 2000 (CIPA). It will address concerns about access to offensive content over the Internet on school and library computers.

The company wants to back the Internet protection act that imposes requirements including Internet safety policies and technology protection measures, Internet blocking and filtering for all computers accessed by minors on any school or library that receives funding support for Internet access or internal connections from the “E-rate” program.

The new program will expand QED’s market share by enhancing its portfolio of partner friendly products. This new program will be available this summer to support the fall semester.

QED’s subscription-based model is designed to strengthen the company’s position as a security application provider in the SaaS (News - Alert) market. Market research shows that the SaaS market is expected to grow to more than $19 billion by 2011.

QED’s latest inclusion, SaaS, Omni Manager, enables to leverage all the educational uses of technology and the Internet while still providing a safe and protected learning environment for students. It offers an affordable way to monitor and manage computers and the Internet any time, any location; solving problems created by today's 'virtual' work environment, says the company.

The Web-hosted software application includes Internet filtering and blocking, antivirus, instant messaging management, asset tracking, and application usage monitoring and policy management. ROI is delivered by employee productivity gains, cost savings and improved operational efficiencies.

QED was recently in news for launching its new MSP/ISP/Telco program, which aims to increase average revenue per user for channel partners.
