An Orange County, California-based company has announced that it will soon showcase its flagship unified communications platform to college and university telecom administrators.
Officials at Applied Voice & Speech Technologies say they will demonstrate their CallXpress platform – designed to facilitate the enterprise migration from legacy s time-division multiplexing call processing and voicemail solutions to IP-enabled UC – to the Association of College and University Telecommunication Administrators’ Winter Seminar and Exhibition.
According to the company, CallXpress delivers call processing, voicemail, unified messaging, fax, notification and speech-enabled personal assistant and automated attendant capabilities to help colleges and universities become more productive.
With this UC platform, staff can manage voice, fax and e-mail messages from any location through a laptop, telephone, cell phone or the Internet. In addition, the platform is said to be an ideal solution to replace legacy voicemail systems and also support the latest IP-PBX (News - Alert) integrations.
The company has already deployed CallXpress in nearly 800 educational institutions. Officials said that they have experience in automating and making communication efficient for students, faculty and staff within an educational environment.
“One of AVST’s (News - Alert) main priorities is educating higher education administrators about the options available for upgrading to advanced communications systems,” said Denny Michael, vice president of marketing at AVST, adding that the features and capabilities of CallXpress appeal to educational campuses of all sizes.
Calling ACUTA’s audiences a natural fit for AVST’s technology, Michael said that it is important that they learn and understand all the communications options available to make the best choices for their “unique” environments.
ACUTA stands for the association for communications technology professionals in higher education. It is an international non-profit educational association serving colleges and universities. The core of the purpose of the association is to support higher education institutions in achieving optimal use of communications technologies.
In December 2008, AVST announced that CallXpress supports GotVoice (News - Alert), a voicemail transcription services provider.
