NetApp Introduces New Storage Certification Program
By Raju Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributor
As companies create large volumes of digital data, storing them safely is becoming a big business. Naturally, demand for professionals who are experts in storage technology is also on the rise.
Now, for students of information technology and computer information systems-related programs, finding good career opportunities has just become a little easier, NetApp has launched a new storage certification program.
NetApp, a provider of storage and data management solutions, has recently announced that the company has introduced a new Certified Storage Associate (NCSA) certification program. This program will help the students get invaluable educational experience in virtualized enterprise environments.
This certification from NetApp will provide an entry-level industry credential in storage technology, which will help students when they compete in the job market. As the demand for storage professionals increase, this might just be the right time for an aspiring storage professional to add another certificate to his resume, which may give him an edge.
The NetApp Academic Alliances Program is for those faculty members and students who want to improve their knowledge of storage technology. This knowledge can be critical in today’s scenario where most of the IT companies make use of virtualized enterprise IT infrastructure.
“With the growth of information, we believe the future of computing will be data centric. To support this, IT communities are going to require an experienced and skilled workforce that understands storage and its important role in data infrastructure," said Regina Kunkle, vice president of State and Local Government and Education, NetApp Public Sector. "We are building programs and alliances within academia and industry to ensure students and graduates entering the job market are fluent in the enabling technologies propelling data-centric organizations.”
Recently, the company announced that it made Datalink, a provider of data center infrastructure and services, its Healthcare Partner of the Year.
