NComputing Allows Online Testing Requirements to Be Met Faster, Easier with New AIR Validation

By Raju Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributor

Desktop virtualization is a technology that is catching up fast in the education sector. Not only does it spare schools the hassle of managing PCs and laptops, but it enables schools to make new technologies readily available to students at a fraction of the cost when compared to more traditional systems.

Allowing schools to meet online testing needs faster, easier and more cost-effectively, desktop virtualization vendor NComputing has validated the American Institutes for Research’s (AIR) online Test Delivery System. AIR’s Test Delivery System offers adaptive assessments on the Internet across several states who are currently using the system, a statement explains.

One of the major advantages of AIR’s Test Delivery System is that it is compatible with most of the systems currently used by schools, which eases worries about incompatibility issues, rather, ensuring a secure Internet browser for administration. The fact that AIR’s system can work with older, less costly systems will also prove quite advantageous.

NComputing has provides desktop virtualization technologies for K-12 segments, which help schools to perform in-person lessons along with chat and Web-enhanced lectures with more ease. With NComputing desktop virtualization technology, schools can essentially educate students in an Internet environment to allow them to grow with the latest technology, rather than be stunted by a lack of today’s unique, ground-breaking educational innovations.

“Desktop virtualization has become an essential part of education around the world, and its use extends beyond stretching IT budgets and enabling shared computing,” said Raj Dhingra, CEO at NComputing in said statement. “It is used in a variety of ways to deliver high quality computing at every level of education from the students to the administrators and faculty. NComputing’s AIR validation gives educational institutions a cost-effective way to embrace the benefits of virtual desktop and thin clients for online testing.”

In other recent news, the company also revealed that four million seats of its vSpace program are in production. These devices will offer support to 20 million users in 140 countries, the company claimed.
