Kennedy University recently established a Learning Development Center that is expected to encourage faculty and staff learning. An online educational institution, Kennedy University specializes in teaching, learning and research. The school offers degree, diploma and certificate programs in 71 majors in 16 fields of study.

The Learning Development Center creates a unique opportunity for faculty to strengthen their coaching and research practices to impart valuable knowledge to the future leaders of the world.”
The center was launched to help faculty members and university staff stay up to date with the advancements in the field of education. The center will showcase all technological developments in education, which will empower faculty and students with an enriched pedagogical experience.
The Learning Development Center will enhance growth and specialization among students and faculty by delivering collaborative learning programs encompassing interactive sessions, faculty career planning conferences and communication technology program.
By encouraging faculty research and by leveraging new technology in imparting education the university is striving to offer affordable, flexible and quality online education for students located across the globe, said officials.
The Learning Development Center will further enhance faculty progress as well besides offering 24-hour support and career services to students.
In related news, Dr. Fatimah Wirth, an instructional designer with Georgia Tech Professional Education, has offered to conduct the first Coursera course focused on creating, designing and organizing online curriculum.
Online education is evolving at a rapid pace due in large part to the expansion of massively open online courses (MOOCs). The new course, titled “Open to anyone, Fundamentals of Online Education: Planning and Application” is a free, six-week course that begins on January 28, 2013.
