Avaya Talks Education at EDUCAUSE

If you want to see Avaya’s (News - Alert) latest solutions for education, look no farther than EDUCAUSE 2012 in Denver. At that event, the company will demonstrate its solutions designed to benefit students, faculty, and staff alike, with advancements for video-enabled learning, campus safety, and virtual environments.

At EDUCAUSE, Avaya intends to demonstrate solutions designed to improve experiences and productivity in key areas, while also helping growth in the market. With the online and interactive technologies available, students can now participate in classes and activities without the constraints of location or time.

With AvayaLive Engage, students and faculty can collaborate with personalized avatars in a 3D environment. This way, users can collaborate in meetings, study sessions, and more over the Internet, meeting regardless of location. This is a much more preferable solution to having to sign up for “Second Life” to do something similar, and that’s speaking from experience.

Avaya will also showcase the Radvision (News - Alert) Scopia applications at the conference. These applications bring video-enabled learning to mobile devices, classrooms, and desktops, providing new opportunities for collaborative learning. It’s also interoperable with existing conferencing environments, so there’s no need to get rid of one’s current investments.

Safety, of course, is also important on campuses, and I don’t mean just computer safety. The Avaya Notification Solution is designed to deliver notifications of events such as warnings, closures, and administrative notes through multi-channel notifications, which can be received on a variety of endpoints. The firm also has an E911 solution that can locate a caller’s location, helping first responders react quickly.
