Bradford Networks Assist Educational Institutions for Managing BYOD
By Carolyn J Dawson, TMCnet Contributor
The Network Sentry network access control offering from Bradford Networks (News - Alert) has been widely implemented across several educational institutions. A minimum of 40 educational institutions, like K-12 and higher-education, have tackled security and management issues, which had considerably increased due to the recent bring-your-own-device guidelines.
The Network Sentry from Bradford Networks is currently being used by a minimum of 500 educational clients globally. Bradford Networks is now a preferred vendor for educational institutions who are proactively implementing and resolving the changing requirements of BYOD. These institutions can guarantee visibility, organization and compliance across their campuses using the Network Sentry offering.
In a statement, Tom Murphy, CMO, Bradford Networks said, "Educational institutions have been dealing with BYOD for years, however the number of mobile devices that students now bring onto campus and the creative ways in which these institutions are using these devices has exacerbated the existing security, management and onboarding challenges. We are proud that Network Sentry is the network access control solution of choice for educational institutions around the globe and that it is enabling them to address these challenges and achieve complete visibility, security and control across their campus networks."
Some of the latest customers of Bradford Networks include East Brunswick Public Schools, NJ; Fredericksburg City Public Schools, VA; John Wheatley College, UK; Michigan Technology University, MI; Magdalen College School, Oxford, UK; and Utah Valley University, UT among others.
Duke W Heaton, Network Engineer at Utah Valley University said, "Over the past couple of years we have seen a dramatic increase in the number of mobile devices connecting to our wireless network, hand in hand with a significant increase in the number of calls to our help desk because of associated network access and security problems. We therefore sought a flexible, fully automated solution that would address these key BYOD challenges. Bradford Networks' Network Sentry jumped to the top of our list. It has all the capabilities we were looking for, and most importantly, it's non-intrusive and makes the overall onboarding process so much easier, faster and a more pleasant experience. We hope to expand Network Sentry to our wired networks in the near future."
