Morris Catholic High School, serving 40 towns and communities within Morris County, NJ, recently selected Optimum Lightpath’s Education Services Suite to take learning to new levels.
Morris Catholic faced ongoing Internet outages and had limited bandwidth, making it difficult to introduce the latest technologies to support learning. Even teachers were finding it difficult to connect to the Internet to conduct research and learning.
“We knew that we had to make a big change to our network infrastructure in order to introduce new technology-based learning initiatives for our students,” said Michael St. Pierre, president of Morris Catholic High School.
After thorough research, the school picked Internet Voice Bundle from Optimum (News - Alert) Lightpath’s Education Services Suite to introduce more technology into its curriculum. The Optimum Lightpath Education Services Suite is built to provide the communication services that are essential for today's learning environments, even as budgets continue to be cut.
Educators can deliver media-rich learning experiences, improve technology infrastructure and meet increasing government regulations with a cost-effective, comprehensive collection of services.
“Everything from the classroom environment, and how students are learning and being engaged, to how the administration is interacting with each other and students has totally taken on a new life,” said Matthew Alpaugh, director of communications and alumni for Morris Catholic High School.
The adaption of this new suite is helping the Morris Catholic School to introduce school podcast, Apple (News - Alert) iPhone and Google Android apps, and the rollout of interactive white boards. The school is also using e-mail and IRC chat for communication, and the cloud to host a variety of documents that students, staff and school families can access directly.
“It is especially rewarding to watch how the technology that Optimum Lightpath (News - Alert) brings to market can help the leaders of tomorrow learn in new ways,” said Julia McGrath, senior vice president of marketing and business development for Optimum Lightpath. “As schools throughout the New York metro area continue to evaluate new ways to advance tech-based education initiatives, we’ll keep working to pack innovation into our Education Services Suite of products to help them reach new heights.”
