UNH-IOL Selects QA Cafe for BBF.069 Certification Program

By Carolyn J Dawson, TMCnet Contributor

The University of New Hampshire InterOperability Laboratory recently announced the Broadband Forum's (News - Alert) BBF.069 Certification program. The performance of the BBF.069 Certification program will be tested by the CDRouter test platform from QA Cafe.

Certification of the well-appreciated TR-069 CPE WAN Management Protocol or CWMP can be uniquely carried out by the BBF.069 Certification program from Broadband Forum. The CWMP is compatible with approximately 150 million devices across the globe. The program is currently only offered by the UNH-IOL (News - Alert), and is presently accommodating requests for testing.

The primary broadband CPE vendors, chipset manufacturers, and service providers across the globe utilize QA Cafe CDRouter, a regulated test tool for broadband CPE, for testing. CDRouter comprises of test modules for TR-069, IPv6 and a series of other procedures important for broadband and digital home implementations.

In a statement, Lincoln Lavoie (News - Alert), Senior Engineer, Broadband Technologies, UNH-IOL, said, "Our selection of CDRouter for the BBF.069 Certification Program not only ensures the success of the program, but ensures the success of the products out there. We're happy to be using a tool that was not only easy to use but is recognized by the industry as an essential tool for CPE testing."

During the latter part of 2012, test scripts from the BBF.069 test program will be added to the TR-069 capabilities of CDRouter. Clients of CDRouter can now execute their own checks, correct defects, and carry out pre-testing prior to presenting their devices to the UNH-IOL for official recognition.

Joe McEachern, CEO, QA Café, said, "TR-069 certification is critical to the industry, and having a third-party certification body is critical to the success of this program. We are happy to support the Broadband Forum and the UNH-IOL in this endeavor and we are pleased that the UNH-IOL has selected CDRouter as its test platform. The testing will be a great benefit to all of our CDRouter customers."

QA Cafe is a major provider of IP testing solutions and packet capture analysis tools. QA Cafe offerings are utilized by broadband access, home networks, consumer electronics, and enterprise IT. Complete authentication of wireless, cable, DSL, CPE such as NAS, and SOHO routers is offered by CDRouter.
