O2 Secure Wireless to Enter the Education Market, Eyeing Franchising Opportunities in Latin America and Caribbean's

By Madhubanti Rudra, TMCnet Contributor

O2 (News - Alert) Secure Wireless, a company that has been instrumental in the development of wireless broadband communication services domestically, is currently up to a flurry of activities. After the recent merger deal with Earthcom Service Inc, O2 Secure now identified a new market in the education sector for its wireless offerings. It is also growing its corporate retail footprint through partnerships with Chinese manufacturer of O2 branded mobile devices.

According to previous media release, O2 Secure Wireless forged partnership with a leading Chinese manufacturer on the design for a new line of global smartphones and tablets capable of being used across the globe. With the completion of the designing process, the company is now in the possession of first prototype of these Android (News - Alert) powered devices.

This mobile phone, containing many advanced features and flaunting a 4.5" screen is undergoing final quality assurance and functionality testing prior to entering the full manufacturing cycle, a press release revealed.

"My initial review and that of our consulting engineers of the device is very positive. The manufacturer has expanded upon our initial ideas and has delivered a device that I believe can be a direct competitor against the leading wireless devices on the market. With our low-entry price point, I believe that we have the opportunity to gain very positive headway into the market,” CEO of O2 Secure Wireless said in a statement.

O2 Secure Wireless has also been offered an opportunity to become a strategic reseller of all devices from the manufacturer. This may lead to the opening of franchise offices across the Eastern U.S., South America, and the Caribbean. The revenue opportunities in this model come from franchise fees, mobile device profit margins, and reoccurring revenue from wireless service minute reloads, nearly tripling the original projections, the company explained.

With smartphones exceeding the sales of PC's for the first time, educators are quickly moving to utilizing this ubiquitous technology. In an intention to grab this opportunity, Company CEO, Val Kazia recently met with principals and IT staff at local educational facilities and presented ideas on how the company can use its full suite of solutions to provide end-user products, wireless infrastructure to educational facilities of all sizes

With expanding opportunities in the education sector, the company plans to work with the manufacturer for U.S. Market enhancements, including special enhancements for the educational community. Florida alone has $25,000,000 budgeted in 2013 for wireless services with each individual district having additional funds.

Earlier this week, O2 Secure Wireless announced the completion and launch of demographically targeted Hispanic Television commercial spots.Want to learn more about the latest in communications and technology?
