Hunterdon County Schools to Implement LinkIt! Data-Driven Systems

By Carolyn J Dawson, TMCnet Contributor

Hunterdon County Educational Services Commission will collaborate with LinkIt! to deploy a data-driven training and appraisal system.

LinkIt! will offer all the participating schools and school districts a method for measuring and standardizing student performance, thereby allowing class-wide, school-wide and district-wide comparisons.

In a release, Joshua Powe, co-founder and president of LinkIt!, said, “During the course of our focus groups and surveys, we found that an overwhelming majority of teachers and administrators in New Jersey are unhappy with current technology offerings and believe that more could be done to improve student learning if the right tools became available. We’re confident we’ve created a system that can help them drive student achievement and teacher effectiveness and we’re excited to usher in a new era of data-driven education into New Jersey schools.”

Many data-driven education technology providers were evaluated by the Hunterdon Co. Educational Services Commission for an economic collective model for testing and reporting. LinkIt! had recently released a national research report titled, “The 2010 Principal Data-Driven Instruction Survey and Trends in Data-Driven Instruction,” which has been instrumental for the Hunterdon Co. Educational Services Commission in selecting LinkIt!

A suite of solutions is offered by LinkIt! to meet the demands of school districts in the areas of evaluation technology and data systems. These include a district-wide benchmarking tool, LinkIt! Express, and an enterprise level data warehouse and dashboard-style reporting platform, LinkIt! Tech and content solutions.

Dennis Cox, Superintendent at Hunterdon County, said, “Hunterdon County ESC (News - Alert) is committed to becoming New Jersey’s leading provider of support services related to assessment technology and performance management tools. We’re excited to work with LinkIt! and show how much of a difference we can make by applying the lessons learned from relevant empirical data for the benefit of our students and to support our teachers.”
