Tamkeen, a company which invests in Bahraini employability, job creation and social support, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, is all set to support a training program aimed at ensuring that students of vocational secondary schools, both in Technical and Commercial Streams, receive high quality training from a qualified workplace supervisor.
In a press release, Amal Al Kooheji, Tamkeen's senior manager of Human Capital Development, said, "Tamkeen concentrates on providing beneficiaries with the necessary skills that will enhance their evaluation and follow up of the students. Therefore, the training program provides the essential tools to train the trainer."
Through this program, the company intends to provide 60 industry supervisors with the required knowledge and skills that enable them to effectively manage the Structured Workplace Learning (SLW) program within industrial, commercial, and Business environment.
The Structured Workplace Learning is one of the pioneering initiatives launched by His Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Deputy Chief Commander, in order to enhance Technical & Vocational Education in the Kingdom.
Heba BuHaji, a beneficiary of the program and a specialist in the Education Technology in His Majesty the King's project for Schools of the Future, sees that these skills have improved her supervising abilities and her methods of dealing with students.
"I participated with other specialists in this program to put a comprehensive plan to train students of secondary schools, with a focus on communication skills," BuHaji said.
Also Jasim Mohammed, another beneficiary of the programme who works in a workshop at Nass Company for car repairing, said that the program has enhanced his supervising skills for training of Technical and Vocational Training Education of secondary students.
Tamkeen's main objectives are to support Bahrainis to become the employees of choice, and to support high quality private sector job creation. To achieve these objectives, Tamkeen has been investing in the cost and quality competitiveness of Bahrainis through spreading management and technical knowledge. Tamkeen has invested more than BD 140 million in more than 70 projects targeting 45,000 Bahrainis and 8,000 enterprises. Programs are continuously being devised as per Tamkeen's strategy and the numbers of beneficiaries are continuously increasing.
