The schedule for the 12th annual higher education technology conference, Cite 2011, has been announced by Pearson. Innovative online learning strategies across a broad range of institutions and programs will be discussed by over 500 program executives, faculty and administrators at the conference.
Key trends in online learning will be the focus of these conference sessions. These include the use of social media and student perceptions of mobile learning. Best practices in online and blended learning, ideas for education innovation and insights into collaborative learning are also included.
Cite 2011 will be held from April 11-13, 2011 at Sheraton Downtown Denver Hotel. The keynote speakers at the Conference include Ben Stein and Jim Carroll (News - Alert). Economist Ben Stein is also an actor and a pop culture icon. His career achievements range from speechwriter for President Nixon to being a pop icon. Companies and organizations across North America seek market analysis by this exceptionally gifted economist.
On the first day, a session titled "Social Media and Higher Education: The Common Ground" will be held at 2:15 PM. Speakers at this session include Jeff Seaman, Ph.D., Co-Director, Babson Survey Research; Mike Moran, Chief Strategist, Converseon; and Hester Tinti-Kane, Director, Online Marketing and Research, Pearson Learning Solutions.
Carolyn Jarmon, VP of the National Center for Academic Transformation will speak on "Increasing Learning and Reducing Costs: The Case for Course Redesign". Dr. Sandy Cook, system director at Kentucky Community and Technical College System; and Dr. Debra Volzer, senior executive director at Pearson Learning Solutions will speak on "Learn on Demand – An Education Revolution (News - Alert)". Both sessions will be held at 3:30 PM on 11th April. Phil Regier, executive Vice Provost and Dean of ASU Online; and Kari Barlow, assistant AVP at ASU Online will be speaking on "ASU and Pearson: Pioneering a New Day in Education" at 4:45 PM on 11th April.
