Luidia, Inc., a developer of eBeam portable digital capture and display solutions, unveiled its eBeam technology, used in both the new HP Pocket Whiteboard and HP Digital Sketch Wireless Tablet. Reports indicated that the products will be part of the HP Digital Learning Suite and had made their public debut at the Texas Computer Education Association (TCEA) Conference, which was held the week of February 7, 2011 in Austin, Texas.
"The HP Digital Learning Suite helps turn students' dreams into 'real life' with student-centric teaching and learning solutions that impact what and how they learn," Kim Chrissan, director of Americas Education Solutions, Personal Systems Group at HP said in a press release.
"Interactive whiteboard and collaboration technology such as eBeam has enormous potential to improve the quality and effectiveness of communication within and outside the classroom," Chrissan added.
For over eight years Luidia has produced an ecosystem of interactive digital capture and collaboration products. Luidia's existing line of products includes the eBeam Edge, the standard for portable surface capture. Its low cost and simple installation make it a high demand technology in both schools and emerging markets throughout the world.
Mentioning the use of HP Pocket Whiteboard, company official clarified that when used with a projector, this product allows a user to transform a flat surface into an interactive workspace. Moreover, by using the included interactive stylus pen, users can present, annotate and interact with the projected content, record meetings and lectures, and even share their work over the Internet.
Also, the HP Digital Sketch allows a user, from a distance, to interact within the projected workspace – creating a collaborative working session. These products come with HP Interact for Education and HP Workspace for Business too.
"Luidia's eBeam solutions uniquely simplify what is a very complex problem and provide portable, scalable, easy-to-use solutions that work with existing classrooms, conference rooms or mobile communication infrastructure, making interactive collaboration easily available to students, small teams, and large enterprises," said Roy Erez, senior vice president of worldwide sales and business development at Luidia.
Earlier in December 2010, TMC reported on the launch of eBeam Engage, a groundbreaking, easy-to-deploy multimedia interactive console that combines audio/visual, navigation and digital capture tools in one convenient console.
