Samsung, the digital technology provider, announced initiatives to target Indian schools and colleges with its Smart Solutions.
Indian educational institutions are migrating to e-learning and Samsung (News - Alert) wants to offer a 360 degree solution that will enhance the learning experience of the student in the class as well as outside.
Samsung’s Smart Solution offers a Smart Classroom with a large format display (65-incher 650TS LFD) and a Smart Teacher who’ll be equipped with Galaxy Tabs to carry out regular teaching chores like maintaining course curriculum and attendance. Students will use their Tabs to access their course material and other digital content.
The digital technology company will initially focus on educational institutes in nine cities – Delhi/NCR, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Kolkata, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai and Ahmedabad.
“'In 2011, we plan to move the IT B2B business to the next level by having a comprehensive product offering across Mobility, Display, Computing and Printing segments that should help us notch up sales of 100 million dollars across the various verticals,” said Ranjit Yadav, country head, mobile and IT, Samsung India Electronics, in a statement.
The Samsung Interactive E-board model “650TS” represents Samsung's aim to design innovation, features and powerful performance. It has anti-reflection coating to enable clear display in bright light or sunlight, and has built-in PC with embedded windows XPP to remote-access and manage content directly on the display and built in speaker.
Samsung Electronics reported a fourth-quarter dip, but the consumer electronics company will be relying on the surging smartphone market and a recovery in its memory chip business to help with a rebound, according to a Reuters (News - Alert) report.
