Smart ERP Solutions or "SmartERP" announced that Florida International University has selected the company's Smart Grants solution to streamline and automate the Pre-award process in the Grants module of their PeopleSoft Financials application.

The Smart Grants is an add-on solution planned to streamline and automate the standard PeopleSoft Grants Pre-award process. This solution uses configurable options to simplify pages and automate workflow approvals while avoiding customizations, according to SmartERP officials.

These features of the Smart Grants help University principal investigators complete the Pre-award Proposal forms through the use of easy enhancements enabling even those unfamiliar with PeopleSoft to readily complete proposals, they added.

The elements of the company's Smart Grants solution at FIU also streamline and automate other PeopleSoft application areas such as Billing in Financials and provide electronic Personnel Action Forms in HCM.

Al Hernandez, FIU's assistant director, Research Decision Support, said, "Simplifying the standard Pre-award process was a requirement but we wanted to avoid the time and effort typically required to customize PeopleSoft in order to meet our needs."

“Simplifying standard PeopleSoft pages, tailoring them to meet unique needs, streamlining processes--these requirements I hear from PeopleSoft customers all the time,” Doris Wong, chief executive officer of SmartERP said. “We developed Smart Grants, as well as some of our other solutions, to meet those needs while avoiding customizations."

Wong added, “The same software we use in Smart Grants we also use to streamline Procure-to-Pay processes as well as to eliminate paper HR personnel forms and automate approvals in PeopleSoft HCM.”

The SmartERP's solution focuses on the common need of simplification and streamlining. The solution is provided for PeopleSoft Financials, HCM and Campus Solutions applications.

Earlier in June, Smart ERP Solutions announced that its Smart Lifecycle Viewer 1.0 achieved Oracle (News - Alert) Validated Integration with Oracle's PeopleSoft Enterprise 9.1 through the Oracle PartnerNetwork or “OPN” Program.
