Vonage (News - Alert) has announced the launch of Vonage Pro, saying that it’s the “first-of-its-kind” digital voice offering featuring five components.

These components keep users connected to “home life” while traveling, including the ability for customers to use their home phone number from anywhere they have access to a high speed Internet connection, according to Vonage officials.

Jamie Haenggi, chief marketing officer at Vonage, said that today, customers' lifestyles dictate more demanding communication needs and the company is again driving the industry forward by providing customers with innovative communication solutions that are designed with their lifestyle in mind.

“Vonage Pro provides consumers with services they don't just need, but they really want,” he added.

Vonage Pro includes a next generation Vonage SoftPhone client, Vonage Companion. Officials pointed out that these two enable the residential or home office user to access their home number from any desktop or laptop PC connected to a high speed Internet connection.

Customers receive the incoming calls ring both on their home phone and also Companioning, and outgoing calls can be made on both devices simultaneously. Officials said that Vonage Companion offers features such as selective call block, conference calling, personalized ringtones and call recording.

Moreover, customers can use a PC's built-in microphone and speakers or plug in a headset with microphone to make and receive calls.

Additionally, Vonage Pro also includes Unlimited Vonage Residential Digital Voice service, 25 Vonage Visual Voicemail messages, 25 411 Directory Assistance calls, and automatic integration of Vonage Contact Center, all for a monthly rate.

Vonage Visual Voicemail automatically transcribes voicemails to email or SMS text enabling customers to read, store, search, and respond to their voicemail messages on their phone, laptop or mobile device wherever and however they choose.

Officials said that their Contact Center provides customers with the ability to synchronize all contacts from their home, desktop and mobile address books while providing additional features such as Voice Activated Dialing and Speed Dial.

“Vonage Pro is the VoIP offering that prosumers have been asking for to help them stay connected while on the go,” stated Haenggi.
