L-3 Communications, Intelligence Solutions Division (ISD), and CloudShield Technologies, Inc., have announced that they signed a services agreement aimed at solving unique computer network defense and information operations requirements.
Tony Smeraglinolo, president of L-3 ISD, said in a press release, “CloudShield brings a programmable deep packet inspection (DPI) product that is unique in the industry today. Its focus on multi-function content processing fits very well with our experience in helping the intelligence community and DoD customers protect their critical infrastructure and services, and is perfectly aligned with what our customers are demanding. This partnership with CloudShield allows us to deliver unique solutions for infrastructure security and control, combining the CloudShield DPI platform with L-3 ISD customized security applications and expertise as one of the industry's premier solutions development companies.”
The converged IP
network services such as voice, video and data are inspected, analyzed, controlled and secured by CloudShield's solution. Also, this happens at multi-gigabit rates from a single, flexible and scalable platform. For the Intelligence Community and DoD, L-3 ISD will develop applications using CloudShield's programming capabilities. L-3 ISD will also operate as a primary integrator helping these organizations rollout large-scale deployments and providing ongoing support.
CloudShield believes that the combination of its service control and security solutions with L-3's customized applications will allow the customers to configure policies and architectures that best fit their needs.
The current security architecture and potential vulnerabilities are identified by L-3 ISD security experts, according to the terms of the agreement. They can then set new security policies and configure, test and deploy new solutions on the CloudShield multi-application platform and recommend architectural changes. L-3 works closely with customers to fine-tune its solutions as new applications and services are introduced, and the security threat landscape evolves.
