TBI Voices Launches Another Online Video Series Featuring a Traumatic Brain Injury Survivor
SHEBOYGAN, WI, Feb 14, 2013 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) --
TBI Voices is a growing and interactive free online resource that
exists for the purpose of providing people who have been affected by
traumatic brain injuries with information and perspective that's
provided by others who have lived through this experience. TBI Voices
has been publishing videos online that feature different traumatic
brain injury survivors, and the Web site has recently released
another series of videos that visitors are encouraged to watch.
Specifically, TBI Voices has launched a series of videos that
interview a woman named Helena, who was involved in a single-vehicle
car accident near Green Bay, Wisconsin in 2007 and who survived a
traumatic brain injury. The video series appears in interview format
and Helena answers several questions regarding her memories of the
crash that caused these injuries, the recovery process that followed
the crash and different challenges that she has experienced since she
was released from the hospital and has fought to overcome the
symptoms related to her original injury.
Visitors are encouraged to log onto TBI Voices to watch these videos
of Helena, as they are split into 12 different parts. These videos
can be found at the URL of http://tbivoices.com/helena1.php, and
different topics covered in these 12 videos include her background as
a music teacher, who she was before her traumatic brain injury, her
struggle to recover from the head injury, her difficulties in
identifying cognitive deficits that resulted from her car accident
and many other issues and challenges she has faced.
This video series featuring Helena is just another in a long line of
videos that have been produced and published by TBI Voices. These
videos generally involve people who have suffered traumatic brain
injuries and who have survived but faced different difficulties
afterward. As more people volunteer to be featured in these videos,
more videos will be published and available free of charge.
One of the many reasons that TBI Voices is making this effort is
because of the troubling statistics regarding traumatic brain
injuries in the United States. According to the United States Centers
for Disease Control and Prevention, or the CDC, more than 50,000
people are killed because of traumatic brain injuries every year and
more than 400,000 more are forced to live with what are described as
long-term disabilities.
About TBI Voices
TBI Voices was launched by Gordon Johnson, an attorney in Wisconsin.
Its purpose is to provide a message for those who may be interested
in supporting the overall cause of traumatic brain injuries and to be

learning more about these severe brain injuries and other forms of
head trauma that can and do continue to affect patients and their
loved ones for years, decades and even lifetimes.
