NobleHour Ambassadors Build Volunteerism and Civic Engagement in Greensboro

Greensboro, N.C., Nov 26, 2012 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- The NobleHour Student Ambassador Team is kicking off an effort to connect the Greater Greensboro Area using NobleHour, an online community platform. The web-based software will be introduced to area non-profits, schools, and community business leaders on Wednesday, Nov. 28. This informational event will take place at the Hemphill Branch Library at 6:30pm.

"Invitations for this introduction have been extended, but we welcome any organization or business who has an interest in our endeavor", said Rishab Revankar, Community Organizer for the NobleHour Ambassador Team. "NobleHour is free for Greensboro residents and for all organizations that wish to post opportunities, so we encourage every interested party to attend." The web site enables Greensboro volunteers and students to search for local events, news, organizations, jobs, internships, and volunteer opportunities. The social software also keeps track of community involvement, while measuring program impact and providing comprehensive reports. NobleHour is dedicated to connecting the Greensboro community, just as its predecessor site, Sweatmonkey was.

In 2006, at the age of 16, a Central Florida high school student named Callahan Fore came up with the SweatMonkey concept. With the tremendous support of friends and the guidance of his father, SweatMonkey was created to help students connect to volunteer opportunities and realize their potential as changemakers. The original SweatMonkey student advisory board of directors worked tirelessly with their co-advisory and developmental groups to develop a safe, secure site that allows all students to communicate directly with an organization of interest.

This January, SweatMonkey re-launched as a more sophisticated platform that connects entire communities by providing them a safe and secure place to contribute and share content.

"Our goal is that NobleHour can become a resource that will positively touch and change the lives of future generations of America's youth. Privacy is our number one concern. At no time does NobleHour share private information with a third party. Student information is protected always," said NobleHour Managing Partner, Scott Fore.
