Arizona Cardinals' Safety Kerry Rhodes Widens Charity Scope for the Holidays
LOS ANGELES, CA, Nov 14, 2012 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) --
All-Star Safety for the NFL's Arizona Cardinals, Kerry Rhodes
(www.kerryrhodes.com) and his charity, The RHODES Foundation, is
going beyond their normal charitable parameters of education by
extending their delivery zone this 2012 holiday season. In an effort
to assist the less fortunate of Mesa, AZ, The RHODES Foundation will
be delivering lightly worn garments from Kerry's personal wardrobe,
as well as new clothes and food to the men's homeless shelter, A New
Leaf, as well as the shelter's La Mesita Family division. As a
staunch believer in giving back to his community, Kerry Rhodes is
graciously giving the New Leaf Shelter a catering company to host
Thanksgiving, and will be making an appearance at the event.
The RHODES Foundation, which was created by Kerry in 2006, was
developed with the goal of encouraging adolescents to reach for their
dreams by providing the essential tools to overcome socio-economic
roadblocks placed in their way. With a focal point on education, the
foundation has acted as a financial source for decaying high schools
throughout the nation, allocating resources, supplies and equipment,
as well as being a college scholarship provider for deserving
students. Rhodes' belief is that it is not enough to just have
functioning educational facilities, but that those sources of
learning should all be well equipped.
In his upcoming 2013 philanthropic campaign, Kerry has set Africa on
his radar, as he would be extremely honored to assist in the relief
for many of the deprived schooling districts there. The talented
football player is currently collaborating with a non-profit
organization to ensure the project in Africa meets with the most
successful results.
When he is not hard-hitting and intercepting on the NFL's gridiron,
Rhodes will continue to place a priority focus on the foundation's
donating drive to A New Leaf's Homeless Shelters. With this latest
charitable direction, Kerry Rhodes is keeping true and strong to his
words, "I want to be one of those guys that actually go back and
help, instead of being those guys who say they would go back and
help, but never seem to do so."
