BioSurplus Hires Preston Plumb As Vice President, Service & Repair

BioSurplus announced today the new position of Vice President, Service and Repair, filled by Preston Plumb.

Preston counts on years of experience building customer service-focused businesses from the ground up. He will be responsible for all aspects of business strategy and management of BioSurplus' lab equipment service and repair division, which is currently operating in San Diego, the San Francisco Bay Area and Boston, with plans for an upcoming nationwide rollout.

As part of the company's commitment to excellence, BioSurplus is now hiring experienced service engineers to work from company locations in San Diego, Fremont and Boston. BioSurplus also has a firm commitment to ongoing traning; the company's extensive and diverse inventory of lab instruments is an ideal classroom for engineers to hone their skills and acquire new ones.

Plumb began his career at accountancy firm Arthur Young & Co.; his next position was as Vice President of Finance at medical device company Ivac Corporation. The company was sold to Eli Lilly during his tenure. He later founded and served as CEO of medical device company Timron Instruments, eventually merging the company with VitalMetrics Inc. Preston rose to the level of Chairman and CEO of the combined companies, whose assets were acquired in a multi-million dollar deal by CR Bard and American Cyanamid.
