Arizona's State Board of Education Approves Capella University's Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in School Psychology
MINNEAPOLIS --(Business Wire)--
Arizona's State Board of Education has granted approval for Capella
University's Doctor
of Psychology (PsyD) in School Psychology online degree
program. That approval now enables Capella to accept new learners into
the program - not only from Arizona, but from almost every state - who
are not already (or previously) licensed school psychologists. Capella
University (http://www.capella.edu)
is an accredited
online university* that has built its reputation by
providing high quality online
degree programs. A snapshot of Capella and what makes it
unique is available through the university's infographic.
The learning and career outcomes of Capella's students and alumni can be
found at www.capellaresultsorg.
"In most states, this approval will allow someone who has been a teacher
for years, who has always wanted to earn a doctorate and become a school
psychologist, to accomplish that goal," said Laren Winter, Ed.D., LSP,
LPC, LMFT, faculty chair for Capella University's (News - Alert) School Psychology
specialization. "This approval provides recognition of our program by a
state that gives approval to programs that are fully aligned at the
national level, and is recognized by many other states as a top rating."
Aligned with national curriculum standards for school psychology,
Capella's Doctor
of Psychology (PsyD) in School Psychology program is the
first and only school psychology PsyD offered online. People who choose
this program are typically pursuing supervisory careers within school
psychology; higher education faculty positions; consulting roles; or
leadership roles in P-12 school systems and higher education.
