Foundation for Chiropractic Progress Communicates Value of Onsite Employee Health Centers to Impact Clinical and Financial Burdens of Musculoskeletal Conditions
CARMICHAEL, Calif. & WASHINGTON --(Business Wire)--
The Foundation
for Chiropractic Progress (F4CP), a not-for-profit organization
dedicated to advancing public awareness of chiropractic care, has
invited Ross M. Miller, M.D., M.P.H., medical executive at Cerner
Corporation, and Bill Updyke, D.C., leader of the Physical
and Complementary Medicine Department at the onsite clinic of Cisco,
to speak at the 17th
Annual National Business Coalition on Health (NBCH) Conference, Nov.
12-13, 2012, in Washington, D.C. On Nov. 13 from 2:30 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.,
the invited doctors and Julie Girten, R.N., BSN, CPHQ,
executive director of the Tri-State
Business Group on Health, will lead a workshop entitled,
"Onsite Health Clinics: Break the Financial and Clinical Burdens of
Musculoskeletal Conditions," which will focus on the value of
onsite corporate health clinics.
"As employers seek to offset rising costs and improve employee health,
industry leaders point to the clinical and financial efficiency of the
onsite health clinic," shares Dr. Updyke, who will be presenting
information on the integrated medical home at an onsite clinic.
"Sufficient research confirms onsite care is directly linked to reduced
healthcare costs, boosted productivity and improved corporate
reputation."
During the workshop, all three presenters will be allotted time to share
their data, extensive understanding and experience gathered through
their corporations, including demonstrated model approaches. The
information presented will provide an opportunity for attendees to
advance their knowledge and enhance corporate healthcare systems
currently in place.
Dr. Miller, a contributing author to: "The
Value of Chiropractic Services at Onsite Health Centers," which
confirms chiropractic services to be an advantageous component of onsite
clinics, shares: "This session will not only provide attendees with a
comprehensive overview of the onsite clinic, but also proven management
strategies that improve clinical quality with optimal Return on
Investment (ROI). Employers interested in learning more about the onsite
sector or advancing a pre-existing site will want to attend."
The NBCH Annual Conference aims to provide attendees with in-depth
training, networking and product demonstrations with the healthcare
industry's largest employer customers. The 2012 event will convene
nearly 400 healthcare leaders in Washington, D.C., to focus on the
overarching and interconnected imperatives of health and healthcare
transformation.
